Raptros is a rogue scientist and anti-GEB hunter whose enhanced senses, claws, speed, and regenerative ability are controlled by a mind still capable of understanding exactly what the Bureau did to him.

The Story That Made Them

Lukas Rathmore followed his mother Isabelle into paleontology and his father Theodore into evolutionary science. Their work taught him to see extinct life as a system rather than a collection of monsters.
The death of mentor Dr. Emmett Caldwell, later traced to GEB interference, made Lukas vulnerable to Evelyn Thorne's promise that controlled paleogenetics could protect people. The project instead selected him for involuntary infusion with velociraptor DNA.
The transformation rewrote his skin, senses, posture, hands, teeth, and nervous system while preserving his scientific memory. GEB expected a trainable predator. Lukas escaped as a researcher capable of understanding the weaknesses in the program that made him.
Now called Raptros, he dismantles GEB operations with calculated brutality and searches for evidence that his humanity can be restored. His conflict with Thorne is both vendetta and unresolved intimacy: she is the scientist who valued the breakthrough more than the person.

The Moment Everything Changed

Dr. Evelyn Thorne recruited Lukas into a GEB super-soldier project, then used him as the subject of a radical theropod-DNA infusion. The procedure produced the result the Bureau wanted and destroyed the life Lukas had consented to live.
